Can I create a domain using SAMBA and set up Active Directory with SAMBA on it? And by this I mean no windows servers involved. I would also like to be able to log in from a Windows machine. Preferably on OpenSuSE.
My objective is to have a domain with centralized authentication just like AD.
I am having problems getting Samba to authenticate AD users to Samba shares. Since I need to get our file server back online I think I will just run Samba as a standalone server. The problem with that is I have a AD domain so I have some concerns. First off can Samba serve files to users that are part of a domain without the Samba server having to join the domain?

I set up an Active Directory Domain with my CentOS server as the Active Directory Domain Controller via Samba 4. It works great but when I make a shared folder the folder size is set to a max of 42 GB. I have no idea how to change it! Any help would be much appreciated.
