Hey guys, I'm running the Elitemod ICS rom on my Desire Z, and lately I've been having some really really strange issues with audio. Firstly, when I plug headphones in nothing happens, and when I adjust the volume the beep that plays goes through the speaker not the headphones, but music or videos go through the headphones, no headphones icon appears as I think it used to do.
Dear All,
openSUSE 11.2, KDE 4.4.4
If I use amarok to change the volume or receive a notification from kopete: the volume of the PCM channel jumps to maximum.
I don't want this feature or bug because the sound quality gets very very bad if PCM is maxed out.
Is anyone else genuinely annoyed with the fact there is no volume lock option on this device? When I want to lower the volume with the rocker on say the lock screen, only the ringer volume goes down, and I have to click the gear icon to manually adjust the volume for the notificatons/media/etc.

Somtimes some sound/movie/music on my Ubuntu_12.04 system is at a very low volume by itself.
Henceforth I increase the volume of the sound output. I can use the following setting (see screenshot)
It seems therefore that pulseaudio is able to increase the volume beyond the maximum that appears possible by merely using the "increase-volume" buttons of the machine.
In different audio sources the level of sounds are different. It's very annoying to set the level of sound on almost every media content. Sometimes, when before you had something quiet, you had to adjust it more louder and after some time you want to play another media - bang!
Greetings one and all.
I'm having an issue with my laptop.
I'm using an HP Pavilion dv7-6135dx Entertainment PC.
The volume control on the top panel won't adjust the volume of my sound. I can hear the sound.
How can I set the volume keys and sound indicator to change only the master volume?
Now when i change the volume from 0 to 100%, using the keyboard or the sound indicator, first I change the PCM level (master remains at ~0%) and then the master level (PCM remains at ~80%) and then the PCM level again for a bit, resulting in a non linear volume increase.
The issue apeared when I first installed Ubu
