Hello fine Gentlemen,
i have the following problem and i primarily want to have a way how to analyse this.
My problem is that somehow Ubuntu keeps locking me in a certain window/editor. i can then
not switch to another one using the mouse or Keyboard. I can however close the window,
giving the focus to another window.
I am using qt to write linux application, tested under Ubuntu.
I set the main window stay on top and fullscreen, and make other children windows, but soon these window go behind of the main window as I click on the main window.
Is there any way to avoid this and keep children windows stay on top of main window?
Thanks beforehand
Ubuntu(or maybe just Unity) lags whenever I minimize a window when there's no other opened window(others are minimized).
I faced this problem after I install Ubuntu Tweak 0.7, Conky, OpenJDK 7, IcedTea 7 (if it does matter)
There's no problem to:
show and hide windows
spread window
open and close window
I have set window minimize animation as Fade 220ms and Animation Time Step as 1 in CCSM b
Generally, when i download a file, firefox will opened a small download's window for me.
Let's say ... if I minimize both windows.
The window, which able to be re-maximized is the download's window only.
I unable to maximized the FF's main window.
Is it normal? how can it be solved?
In order to re-maximized the main window is:
I select the downloading file, and open the download page.
Wise ones,
Okay, so I've managed to commit a couple of newbie fumbles.
First, whenever I minimize a program window, such as a browser, the window does not "drop to the bottom of the screen" and, in the form of a button, take up placeholder residence in the panel. Instead, the window shrinks down to nothing and simply disappears from the desktop.
I have lenovo ideapad laptop. I installed ubuntum along with window 7 using WUBI. Now i have upgraded to window 8. In boot menu its not showing the ubuntu, even i have disabled fast booting option from the window 8. Please help me
I'm still pretty new to Ubuntu, so please bear with me, and explain things like you're talking to a small child.
When I hit minimize on my last open window in Ubuntu 11.10, everything freezes. I can't open a terminal window via Ctrl Alt T, I can't hit the superkey and open Unity, I can't click any of the icons on my panel.
i have an application that has two Gtk.Window's and one of them calls the another, but when using Gtk.Window.set_modal(True) it doesn't work, i still can interact with the main window...
