AT&T announces the HTC One X+ and One VX as coming soon

http://www.talkandroid.com – Earlier HTC announced the One X+ as their newest flagship phone, but said that a separate announcement would take place for the U.S. Well AT&T didn’t take long to announce their intent to carry the quad-core beast as well as another phone called the One VX. The One X+ (pictured above) will be the first quad-core phone in the U.S. with LTE capability thanks to the latest 1.7GHz Tegra 3 chipset. The rest of the specs are the same which include a 4.7-inch 720p Super LCD 2 display, 1GB of RAM, 64GB of storage, 8MP rear camera with ImageSense, 1.6MP front camera, 2100mAh battery, Android (IT news)

ZTE, whose website proclaims is the world’s 4th largest manufacturer, announced the cheapest quad-core smartphone yet. The ZTE U950 packs a 1.3GHz NVIDIA Tegra 3 quad-core processor and 1GB of RAM but its most impressive spec is the 999 yuan price (approximately $160 USD). The low-priced Android device comes with a 4.3-inch display and is only 9mm-thick.

HTC finally took the wraps off of the One X+, and as expected, it’s going to have more speed, more storage, and more battery life. There’s nothing shocking about the specs only because most of the rumors came true.

ZTE made a strong showing at Mobile World Congress. We already told you about the ZTE Era, which is their flagship quad-core Tegra 3 smartphone. They unveiled seven other Android smartphones and four tablets. They also showed Miflavor which is ZTE’s UI skin that will go on top of Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.

Looks like Google’s Nexus 7 isn’t the only $199 Tegra 3 quad-core 7-inch Android tablet.

Just when we thought Samsung pushed the envelope with the Galaxy Note II and its 5.5-inch display, Huawei drove right over it with the Ascend Mate that was announced earlier today. It sports a whopping 6.1-inch IPS display at 720p. Seriously folks this is just about Nexus 7 territory, but Huawei thinks the consumer will eat it up.

ZTE just announced the Grand X LTE. Yes I know another Android phone so what makes this one so special? Well this one only needs one chip. It sports the Qualcomm MSM8960, which makes it their first single-chip phone.

ZTE announced its line up of smartphones for late 2012 to early 2013 in a press conference in Russia.

ZTE has never been known for high quality phones, but  today the Chinese manufacturer pulled out all the stops and unveiled a new and stunningly beautiful super phone known as the Grand S. The unveiling comes a few weeks earlier than the big electronics trade show, CES, and is bound to make a big splash. This is truly a top-of-the line phone in every respect.

You didn’t think the M7 would be the only phone HTC would offer this year did you? We just got word on two more phones, codenamed M4 and G2. We probably won’t see these guys at the launch events on February 19, but they should hit stores this spring. The M4 is going to sit just below the M7, much like the One S was to the One X.
