While I like ADW Launcher and the default CyanogenMod interface, I've been starting to explore some of the other launchers out there. The "GO Launcher" series of widgets are very attractive and generally well done. So, I installed the launcher, weather, and task manager widget.
I have to say that while the widgets look great, they take longer to load than what I'm used to.
Ubuntu 12.10 has introduced among other things Unity launcher widgets that show, for example, unread Gmail message counts, twitter tweets, etc.
So, I believe this to be an Ion issue only, but I'm not totally sure. Upon changing my launcher to Apex, I can no longer access many of the widgets native to the Ion, such as the (extremely convenient) toggle buttons for WiFi/Bluetooth/NFC/Vibrate/etc, the default digital clock widget that is the first thing you see when you first start your shiny new Ion, and many others.

I'm looking to get simple generic icons for my dock of my launcher. Just to represent email or web browsing and such. Apex Launcher and Nova Launcher have these 1x1 widgets to work as nice icons on the dock, but they don't have many and I want to find more to match. All I want are some simple icons.
every time i try to add a widget to my homescreen from my app drawer, i long press a widget like system tools and I get "WARNING...install Holo launcher HD as system app to use the widgets tab (root required), otherwise you can only add widgets by long press on desktop". I'm rooted, by the way. any suggestions?

I flash updates pretty often and If im lucky the widgets stays in place. However if I wanna flash a new rom, I am wondering how I can backup all the custom widgets I have made in Desktop Visualiser?

I got a Nexus 7 4.2.1 with Apex Launcher.
running SmoothRom / Trinity Kernel
using Apex Launcher, started today everytime i go Landscape mode my widgets would not work, nor i can drag icons around...
i must have change a setting or something help!!!
tried reformatting to factory, reflashing ROM and Kernel, reinstalling Apex then the same thing would happen...
