http://forums.opensuse.org – Okay wow this is really annoying and starting to tick me off.. http://i47.tinypic.com/30verl3.png Anyone have similar problems with graphics glitches with desktop effects enabled? Or does anyone know how to fix it? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. (Distributions)

I'm currently running Ubuntu 10.10 on VMware. My computer has a NVidia 8800GT graphics card.

I'm trying to activate the Desktop Effects but keep getting the following error message: "Desktop Effects could not be enabled"

I'm very new to Linux so I'm still in the extreme learning phase.

Could someone offer suggestions on how to get this to work?

My goal is to get Compiz to work.

Hello all.

I would like to use the desktop effects in Gnome Fedora 14.

But i get this error message:

Code: Accelerated 3D graphics is not available Desktop effects require hardware 3D support I have a Nvidia Geforce 7300 LE.

I can run the highest resolution my monitor supports without any glitches, overall very smooth.

So i guess the card is installed and working fine.

I had written a tutorial about how to install Compiz Fusion and enable different wallpapars,snowing desktop,desktop fishbowl. Here I will share some more cool effects such as burning,blasting,dodging,folding when minimizing and un-minimizing a window,and writing on desktop with mouse,paint fire on the screen,water wave on screen,etc.

when I try to run something through run command (alt+F2) the run command dialogue shows some news as I type, how to disable this?

Hey guys, I'm having a problem downloading a codec to view xvid files, I'm using Totem player, and when I try to install the codec, it says that their is a conflict, and I don't know how to resolve it :(
