I added the coolbits options in xorg.conf which does enable overclocking in Nvidia X Server Settings. But it has no voltage support.

I have an ASUS P5P800 motherboard on my system. Recently, when I boot up it tells me that there's been an overclocking failure. I haven't done any overclocking on the system, never attempted any overclocking, or anything of the sort. Could anyone help me figure out what's going on here?
What does it mean to "overclock"? I hear people talking about overclocking CPU and Video Cards. Is this dangerous to the computer system?
