i've installed ati mob radeon 9600/9700 in kernel 2.6 rhel 3, thank so much.
i'm still hoping to get driver in kernel 2.4 environment so my other application still working.
A while ago, I asked how to get the ATI/AMD drivers for a Radeon 9600 working on a PowerMac G5. The machine itself isn't bad, but the support for drivers and applications don't cover the Power PC platform anymore. The only way to get their drivers to work is to use an old kernel, because the most recently supported driver is not compatible with the most recent kernel.
Hi all, Some other people and I suffer from a Radeon driver bug since kernel v3.14 ( for more detailed information, please go to see this post ). The screen blinks rapidly after loading the radeon driver... It is OK in kernel version 3.13, but it begins to blink in v3.14. Three months pasts and the bug is still there.
Just a heads up, everything here is being done in Ubuntu, just because I already had a PPC disk. Later when I have a better internet connection, I'll use Lubuntu, but this was quicker. I have a PowerMac G5 dual Core, with the default graphics card, the Radeon 9600. Great for low shaders, however I cannot seem to get the driver working.
I'm trying to use a new kernel (2.6.32) on RHEL 5.10 32bit (2.6.18 kernel). The .32 kernel is downloaded from kernel.org not patched by Redhat. I know this is silly, but upgrading to RHEL 6 is not an option to us.
I did make menuconfig; make; make modules; make modules_install; make install; reboot. Then I got a kernel panic. I built 2.6.18 kernel from source, either patched by redhat or not.
I have been reading and searching all over the place but all to no avail so far.
I have a HiGrade Ultinote M9000-3000 laptop pc with an ATI Mobility Radeon 9600 M10 video chip in it.
The OS I have installed is FC14 running Gnome.
I have been unsuccessful so far in getting the VGA output to work.
If I boot with the VGA Cable in, the laptop LCD goes blank but I get an invalid format
I'm very new to Ubuntu and Linux for that matter, and wondering if anyone there found proper drivers for ATI Radeon 9600 All-In-Wonder.
The system (Ubuntu 12.04) doesn't let me change screes resolution and it's not recognizing the card..
Hi, i have laptop with hybrid graphics(Radeon HD and Intel HD) and i use open source drivers. In kernel 3.14 developers add dynamic energy managment for hybrid graphics, so radeon card is off(cat /sys/kernel/debug/vgaswitcheroo/switch says DynOff in radeon card). How i can run application on radeon card?
