Just as they promised, ASUS has delivered the tool in the month of February so now the development side of things is about to get exciting. Before today, the Transformer Prime was blocked from doing any major tinkering, like flashing custom ROMs, kernels and those oh so fun MODs. Once a major deterrent to many perspective buyers, the availability of an unlock tool will now give users the option of customization, probably my most favorite thing about (IT news)

After announcing that its Transformer Prime and Transformer Pad Infinity tablets would be receiving Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, ASUS has finally revealed the long-awaited details. In a post on the company’s Campus Life blog, ASUS released the official changelog for the update, detailing the specific changes that will be made.

ASUS began rolling out an Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update for the Transformer Prime in Sweden yesterday, and today the company has followed with a statement regarding the rest of the world. Announced via the company’s official Facebook page, ASUS says global users can expect an update to the latest version “soon”.

after update to JB a wont root my Prime. I unlock bootloader with Asus tool a after instal TWRP and back up my original rom. Everything waf fine , i root tablet. After i wont instal Custom rom (i tried Virtual Prime) but instalation dont start. I tried antoher rom (thing it was CM) but asus dont start, after restore original rom still dont start (freez on first asus logo).

When the Transformer Prime launched, it was the first tablet to ship with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, and now it’s one of the first devices to receive Jelly Bean along with the Transformer Pad Infinity. If you are one of the many folks who regularly modify your device with ROM’s and tweaks by unlocking the bootloader, you probably noticed that you did not receive the OTA update.

We have known about the Transformer Pad TF300 since Mobile World Congress, but ASUS did not say exactly when we could get it or for how much. All of that has changed however, as ASUS has officially announced the pricing and availability for it. Online sales of the NVIDIA Tegra 3-powered slate start on April 23rd, while retail locations begin on April 30th.

ASUS said today that the Transformer Pad, Transformer Prime and Infinity will be the lucky tablet winners to get Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. That’s it so far. ASUS says they’re still deciding on other devices though. The other day they said on their German Facebook page that the Eee Pad Slider and Transformer would be getting Jelly Bean too. Does that mean it’s not final?

Despite Hasbro suing Asus for seemingly blatantly copying terms like “Transformer” and “Prime”, much like LG seems to have done with its “Optimus” range (without getting sued, as yet), the latest Asus Android tablet, with fresh cream that’s icy and covered in chocolate biscuit, has finally made its way to Australia.
