My wireless card was doing fine until I started using a encrypted wireless connection. Every time I get disconnected from my router it automatically tries to log my back on if it fails the first time my wireless program tells me other networks I could connect to but for some reason the only way to get my wireless card to work is to reboot. I did not modify it hardware wise at all.
I disable my wireless with Alt+F2 in asus netbook, and it gets switched off. ifconfig does not show wlan0 as one of the adaptors. Then, I put my netbook on suspend by closing the lid. When I open the lid, the wireless is switched on again, on its own.

My older Aspire ONE does not see either battery (three cell or 6-cell) that is installed. It is hard for me to think that both batteries would go bad at the same time, therefore I feel that it might be the computer. If I knew the battery pin-outs I could at least use a multimeter and check the voltages.
