I bought a new laptop a few weeks ago and the first thing I did was install ubuntu on it. I had a lot of problems with Unity and display drivers and got those worked out. But I can't seem to get audio working. It sometimes works with headphones plugged in, but I never get any sound through the speakers.
For some reason, my Verizon Galaxy S3 is only playing audio out of the left speaker of my Klipsch Image One headphones. My Klipsch's have worked on my phone for 2 months without a problem until today. I plugged in the same headphones into two other devices (my computer and my sister's iphone) and they worked perfectly fine with audio coming out of both earcups.
i installed Ubuntu on my ASUS and i cant get the audio to work from neither my speakers nor my headphones. New to UBUNTU so i dont really know how to manually install drivers for audio. PS; the option doesn't show in the aditional drivers option in the system settings window.
Thank you for your assistance in advanced.
Good afternoon
Yesterday I installed Ubuntu 11.10 64nit on my Asus Eeepc 1215b where is as CPU Amd C-60 and GPU Radeon HD 6290. Netbook works like swiss watches but in the right corenr of display is an image: "AMD hardware not supported". Drivers and updates of Ubuntu are up to date. So, where is a problem?
Thank you for your answers
Adam
I have a laptop with an ati radeon 4200, on 12.04 everything worked fine, since upgrading to 12.10 I cannot get sound over the hdmi. When I switch to hdmi audio the video speeds up to about 2x. I can use the speakers in my laptop and watch video via hdmi with no problems.
Things I have tried:
Various tutorials to install the amd/ati drivers, all of which resulted in low graphics mode...
I recently recycled an old motherboard to build a computer for a friend...
When I used it, I had many different versions of Ubuntu, Xubuntu, Kubuntu, etc., installed (at different times), and the audio always worked. It is an ASUS p5q, with a realtek 888s chipset. the last version I used with it installed in my computer was 10.04.
helo people
I have Asus K55V, fedora 17 64 biti instaled. I have audio from laptop, but I canot use an audio sistem because when I connect the audio jack in audio out port, it doesn't get out any sound anymore. The sound from laptop stops and audio sistem doesn't work either. In win 7 it works OK. The sound hard from my laptop is provided by realteck.
Hello everyone,The problem is that I can't use my headphones in Windows, I just plugin my headphones and no sound comes from it. But when using Arch, it all works. I first installed Windows 7, and my headphone output was working perfectly fine.
Here are the drivers for the nice premium netbook by ASUS. Its ASUS EeePC 1005PR drivers collection. Its free to download. Select the component you want to download. I put the download link in my other download page.
