this is a link to a simple android homescreen widget. I was able to do it after reading some tutorials online. However, The Homescreen widget shows on devices less than 4.2 but it does not appear on my 4.2.2 or any 4.2.x. I need help on what to do to make this work.
So I have this absolutely pointless widget. When I run the app in eclipse and try to place the widget on homescreen, the app crashes. I guess the problem is in config activity that gets called on creation, but I lack knowledge to fix it. Can anyone help me, please? I can provide the code, I just don't know what exactly to put here.
I don't like the look of TouchWiz, so I use ssLauncher instead. But every time I unlock my phone, the clouds from the original weather widget on the phone keep showing up and blocking the entire homescreen. It's really annoying! I've disabled the widget on both the Touchwiz homescreen and in the settings, but it keeps showing up.
I am looking for a widget or app which lets me display a photo on my homescreen and launch and app when clicking it. Really simple, shows any picture I chose, no frame, and allows me to link that picture to any app or setting etc. Is there such a widget?
I want my widget to display its last data (image and text) immediately after rebooting the phone. After reboot, my widget's AppWidgetProvider.onUpdate() is called and I successfully update it there. However, it can take quite a long time before before onUpdate() actually gets called. After reboot, the homescreen first comes up and my widget sits showing its default layout for up to 30 seconds.
