sorry if this has been answered already, but my searches brought me to nowhere.
I have just installed LAMP environment on Amazon EC2 instance. It runs on:
Ubuntu precise 12.04 amd64 server
PHP Version 5.3.10-1ubuntu3.4
MySQL 5.5.28
Apache/2.2.22 (Ubuntu)
Drupal 7-18
Drupal installation tells me that I have not GD enabled and PDO extension are disabled.
As a regular user of amazon, I was quite eager to try out the Amazon search function in dash. I've got the latest beta of 12.10 with all the latest updates, but I'm not seeing any amazon search results in dash. I'm only seeing results from the ubuntu One Music store. Are search results disabled becouse I'm located in Norway?
In the upcoming version of Ubuntu – 12.10 (final is coming on oct 18th, 2012), when you do a default search in Unity dashboard, it also returns amazon products in results, along with some expected normal results.
Ubuntu 12.10 includes a new shopping lens that shows Amazon search results in dash.
Amazon have introduced their new Amazon Cloud Player, bang goes Banshee's Amazon MP3 download support. It really was an iTunes killer for me, but hey life sucks.
Do the dev's have anything up their sleeves? Or is it curtains?
I want to stay with the LTS release cycle but I would like to support Ubuntu with my Amazon purchases. Is there a way I can install the Amazon lens in 12.04?

So, if you’ve installed Ubuntu 12.10 (Quantal Quetzal) and hates this amazon results in Dash search, then you should know that it can be easily disabled from System Settings -> Privacy -> Include On
A lot of people expressed security concerns about the integration of an Amazon lens into the Home lens in Ubuntu 12.10, but Canonical is making sure that users’ privacy will be respected.
