Are KDE apps compatible with XFCE or Icewm?

http://forums.opensuse.org – I gave it 6 months, "Plasma" is still as disappointing as it was on day 1 :-( , even more so on SuSE 11.3, but I love the KDE apps. Any suggestions on a lightweight window manager (XFCE or Icewm) Don't care about effects, I like dark and minimalistic where I can define colours, window size and placement, any suggestions would be highly appreciated before I rototill this installation. Plasma has too many irritating features that I cant turn off, just too much like Windoze (Distributions)

IceWM is a window and session manager that in a sense emulated old Windows look and feel. Its features are that it's light and simple to use.

IceWM is a great window manager, fast, light and easy to understand. There are many apps to configure it, but i prefer to edit the configuration files. I abhor icons, wallpapers, and the constant use of the mouse (i also use Ratpoison).IceWM allows to configure many options so do not despair.

IceWM installed y default in OpenSUSE.

I just decided to try it, but unexpectedly it became the default window manager (something new in behavior, 4 months ago the system asked before changing the default WM).

Now I cannot logoff from it so I could choose another WM: after logoff the monitor says 'frequency out of range' (I wonder, why).

Using OpenSuSE 11.2 and IceWM, where is the menu config file located?

It is not in ~/.icewm and the /etc/icewm/menu file is not the same as that displayed with the "start" button. There is no other file named "menu" on the system.

I would need your advice how to do a minimalistic instalation of Fedora with Xfce from CLI.

I downloaded minimum install iso (about 200MB) and started to install. During the instalation I checked "minimal", thats all.

Now I want to install Xorg and Xfce and GDM. But I want to install just necessary packages... without networkmanager and so on.

My window manager seems to have broke (xfce). I don't see windows around borders, the mouse doesn't display, and i cannot open the "window manager" settings from the menu (the xorg text tty says my window manager is unknown). The panel still loads but doesn't display my desktops correctly (only shows 1, i have 2). How can i find out why this might have happened?
