Are drawing tablets supported in Ubuntu

http://askubuntu.com – I was wondering if digital drawing boards (Handwriting Tablets, Pen Tablets, Drawing Tablets, Graphics Tablets) are supported in Ubuntu for presentations, pointing devices and normal drawing. For example: The reason I ask is for some video tutorials I am making and it would make my life a little easier to explain some stuff while drawing it. (HowTos)

I'm wanting to know what would be a good Linux compatible drawing pad/tablet that I can use for drawing animation and sprites. Would I be able to link it with GIMP?

I'm using Ubuntu 12.04 with a semi powerful GPU and quad core CPU w/8GB memory.

I am working on an Android application where I am using a single OpenGL ES instance. In some instances, I am drawing a custom (rectangular) dialog ontop of everything else, with scrolling text, lines, etc.

I'm having an issue with my Genius drawing tablet. It's a G-Pen F350. In short, I can click and the two lateral buttons work, but when I move the pen over the tablet, nothing happen.
