When people want to try Linux, it is very likely that their first distro is either Ubuntu, Mint or Zorin. But after using Linux for a while, most users will know about and want to try Arch Linux, a lightweight, flexible and highly customizable distro. You will gain a lot of benefits from trying and using Arch Linux.
Manjaro Linux is a desktop-oriented, user-friendly distribution based on Arch Linux. Some of its more pronounced features include an intuitive installation process, automatic hardware detection, special Bash scripts for managing graphics drivers, and extra desktop configuration options. Manjaro Linux comes in three editions featuring the Xfce, GNOME 3 (with the Cinnamon Shell) and KDE desktops.
It’s been some four months since I’m not using my favorite Distro (Arch Linux), I’m now using Debian.
All started because I’ve made some changes to my Arch Linux computer, and it stopped working, I needed something to work, and because the installation process of Arch Linux is not that easy or at least not that fast, I decided to go with Debian.
Has anyone come across a good, easy to follow manual for how to install Arch Linux?
Ubuntu is my favorite distro and I'm currently using Ubuntu 12.04.1LTS, however I also like to try other systems as well.
I would like to introduce you to a little distro I can across, and am currently running on my machine called KahelOS. KahelOS is based on Arch Linux, but featuring a pre-configured Gnome Shell experience. Which I would really cool, because most "Arch based/Forks" use KDE (Chakra) or a lighter DWM (ArchBang).
Arch Linux
for the Photon 4G
About:Hey everybody! I've had my Photon for almost a year now, and absolutely love it. However, I have flashed the poor little thing to death, never quite happy with any particular ROMs. I've been using Arch Linux on my computer for a while now, and it's quickly become my favorite Linux distro.
So I finally did it -- my first Arch install. No I didn't abandon Ubuntu -- far from it -- I just wanted to see how the other side lives in a "more advanced distro". Here are my general impressions for any one else considering a similar experiment
Arch -- it can be complicated. I've used Ubuntu for a long time - 5 or more years and really like the command line.
I was going to post this in the Arch sub-forum, but decided this might
be a better place to reach folks who haven't had success with, or been
put off by the rumors of, Arch Linux.

Rabbit's Awesome beginner's guide to:
Installing Arch Linux
Howdy,I hail from Canada. I started using Linux about two years ago. Like a lot of newbies, I got going with Ubuntu. About a year ago I switched to Arch, and haven't looked back. I love the simplicity and customizability - the Arch Way! Arch appeals to my drive to tinker. After a year of using Arch, this is the first time I've posted to the forums.
