http://serverfault.com – We have our own apt/deb repository with a handful of packages where we want to control the version. Crucially this includes puppet, which can be sensitive to versions being different. I want our desktops to only get puppet from our repository, but also for people to be able to add their own PPAs, enable backports etc. The current problem we have is backports on Ubuntu Lucid. Some important lines from /etc/apt/sources.list: deb http://gb.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ lucid main restricted universe multiverse deb http://gb.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ lucid-updates main restricted universe multiver (HowTos)

I'm running ubuntu 11.10 (oneiric) on this machine, and suddenly, apt is unable to update properly.

If I ask it to update its package information, by running apt-get update (or alternatively telling the update manager to "check"), it succeeds for about 120 packages (more precisely, I get about 120 Ign/Hit notes) and then says it cannot find universe Sources and restricted amd64:

Hit http://de.ar

As in the title. I tried to add a Repository, how do I remove it. It won't let me via the software-sources program.

I keep getting this warning whenever I try to run sudo apt-get update
