Apple today opened up access to its iCloud for iWork beta to the public, following a period of testing which has seen the service gradually becoming more broadly available. Initially, only developers had access, but in July, some non-developers began receiving invites. Now, any user with an Apple ID can test out iWork ahead of its official fall launch.
Apple updated its iWork for iCloud services today with several features that it had previously announced were on their way. These center around a bunch of new collaboration tools that aim to make it a good alternative to Google Docs offerings for iCloud users.
Numbers, Keynote and Pages in iCloud were all updated and you can see the new stuff now at iCloud.com.
I have various Apple products which sync with iCloud. Are there any ways to access iCloud documents with Ubuntu apart from the web-based access at https://www.icloud.com/? The ideal option would be a daemon that syncs with iCloud in a similar way to how Dropbox does. However, a programmable API or GUI-based solution would be good too.
I have a fairly simple OpenVPN setup on an OpenVZ VPS with Ubuntu 11.10. Client is the Viscosity client on Mac OS X 10.8.2, and after some testing, we can rule out the client as being part of the problem.
Everything has been working fine except for Apple's iCloud stuff. Web surfing, email, FTP, NNTP, and Skype are all working as expected.
