The Wi-Fi Alliance has launched a device certification program for the new Miracast wireless streaming standard which aims to simplify video and audio sharing between devices made by different manufacturers.
The proliferation of connected screens — smartphones, tablet, laptops, TVs, projectors and so on — means there’s no shortage of opportunities for sharing digital content fro
Google is apparently working on an alternative to AirPlay, and we’re not referring to Miracast either. We’ve discussed Miracast recently, and media streamers aren’t really anything new, however Google is looking to move this technology forward by bypassing the ‘external box’ part and solely use the device in hand coupled with a TV, or even a laptop.
Does anyone know of a way to pair Ubuntu with a miracast device (such as the nexus 4)?
Ideally I'd like to have the miracast stream set up similar to a webcam stream, so it can be recorded.
Will the Galaxy Note be able of miracasting full 1080p. Is AllshareCast essentially miracast?

And gizmodo's report: http://www.gizmodo.com.au/2012/09/what-is-miracast/
The MHL- HDMI Adapter thing is semi-nasty, with supposedly being restricted to 720p or 1080i.
I've been trying to search and I can't seem to find any info on whether miracast is working yet. I've got a Netgear Push2TV 2000 and the newest WiDi update adds Miracast functionality, but I can't connect to it.
Has anyone actually successfully been able to use it? I assume from the lack of posts about miracast/wireless display that its not ready yet?
Within the next few months, the Wi-FI Alliance will launch the Miracast wireless display certification program. It enables devices such as televisions, phones, tablets, and computer monitors to share their displays wirelessly. According to NVIDIA, they are not only supporting it, they are embracing it.
For years I've run a very nice MythTV media server complete with multiseat linux, 5 hard drives, you get the idea. So the idea of buying an extra "dongle" like the ptv or other miracast adapters, while the price isn't bad at all on most of them, seems a bit silly when I've got a core i5 with 10gb of RAM running all the time as is.
Does our device have miracast with the 4.1.2 update? If so how do I enable it? I'm trying to find a way to successfully connect to my appradio 2.
Thanks!

The Samsung Galaxy S III is a phone that was instantly hailed as one of the best phones on the market and that was before the Jelly Bean update. When you have the combination of great hardware engineering and imaginative software all the praise is well deserved, now the Galaxy S III is being honored for being environmentally friendly.
