http://forum.xda-developers.com – I am running just a stock rom 4.0.4 with HTC sense 4.1 on top. Currently when I try to update any of my existing apps e.g Ebay it downloads the file but then when installing it says insufficient storage and aborts. In terms of storage I have 1.52gb internal and 21.94gb phone storage so plenty free. This doesnt seem to affect downloading new apps. Thanks for any help or pointers you can give. (HowTos)

I've been using my phone for about 5 months but recently I faced a problem with the internal storage of my phone. I have a total space of 1.97GB for my internal storage, apps used up 601MB and it says I only have 216MB available. Adding up the apps and available spaces, I should have about 1GB left. I don't know where it go and I can't update my apps now due to the insufficient space.

I have a serious problem with my Samsung Galaxy S3. I can't update some of my existing apps or download new (some) new apps. Plenty of storage available as far as I can tell, but I get an 'Insufficient internal memory' message. I am not exactly a techie but I emptied (app) cache (1 tap cleaner) and uninstalled a few seldomly used apps to free up space. No luck.

Hi, I have a weird problem with my S2 running samsung stock ICS 4.0.3. i have been using sgs2 for over a year now and whenever my free internal storage goes below 2.5GB i move the apps to SD card. But now No. of apps in SDcard has hit the Android limit so i simply delete the Apps. But off late that is not freeing up my internal memory.

I bought a pay as you go Android phone from Wal-Mart for about $130 and the be completely honest I want to throw the thing into the wall.

Not sure if it's the phone itself or the just the operating system. My biggest issue is the fact that when the phone attempts to download new apps or update existing apps it says I have no storage.

I had this thing within 500MB of the internal capacity less than a month after purchasing it.

I've limped it along until now. It has gotten to where it will not update apps due to insufficient space. Things I've noted: It will NEVER compute internal storage space Under Settings/Storage. Perpetually says calculating. It will not Delete my apps.

Hi, I have a rooted Pantech Pocket, ATT as carrier. When the phone was new, I loaded just a few apps, Titanium back up and SD maid, created an update.zip file on the SD card and the empty internal storage was about 300MB. I use the phone for texting, email viewing, a little browsing, and well, as a phone. No gaming, or streaming audio or video. My internal storage is now around 50MB.

Apparently for the SPH-M950 or the majority of the Galaxy line running ICS there are some things necessary to root in order to free up storage and clean up odex files. Even with root and App2SD utilities I cant move apps to ext sd without Directory Bind, or clean up certain installation files without Lucky Patcher. Both apps I couldnt install, because of the "Insufficient Storage" bug.

At times I try to update an app and it reports that there is "Insufficient storage available". In this case it's Google Chrome Beta, which is already installed so in theory it shouldn't be taking up much more space (other than whatever updates they've added) but replacing the one there.

When I go into Settings>Storage it says I have 129MB free of the 1.11GB internal memory.

Ok I really can't figure this out and my theory is that the droid maxx has it backwards and uses "internal storage" to mean external storage and "move to phone" as internal storage. Can anyone please explain this to me?? I have ApptoSD and, as an example, one of my apps MUST be kept on internal storage.
