On my machine there is some process which is writing a log in C:\Application.log. Now I want to rotate the logs file without stopping that application. On the same machine I have apache 2.2.
I use logrotate to rotate Apache access-, error- and rewrite-logs.
This is my Apache vHost-configuration:

I have my own server instance which is centos 5.7 and have installed apache some time ago. Now I noticed that my log files are rotating.
I have a BIG problem. I have VPS with Debian OS, and LAMP installed. Fresh install. For control panel i using Webmin.
split apache log with cronolog ,
cronolog version 1.6.2 --install with tarbar.

stop apache,del all log files.
restart apache , visit a url, no access_log_YYYY_MM_DD log file ...
also no error msg in error_log file....
confuse.....

I have been using Apache2 and webmin with my raspberry pi. after a restart and reinstalations apache wont start.
When in a site apache conf file, is there a way to set the user and group for the CustomLog and ErrorLog?
Right now, these 2 records create the error and access log with root:root permissions, but I would like them to be flewis:admin
