So I was having this problem before the Jelly Bean update where the home screen on my phone would lock up yet notification shade still worked. The menu button doesn't do anything either, but when I power off the phone, and power it back up. I can still access the 4 shortcut icons on the bottom, and for the most part they all work minus the messaging app.
I may have a unit that's slightly more sensitive than average (see my posts from several days ago about random reboots). Bearing that in mind, I still want to throw this into the ether.
I installed Nova Launcher. It worked great on my Droid 3, which was running the Team Kang ICS ROM. I expected the same results with a phone running authentic ICS, but I got bootloops instead.
Hi, i have an international Galaxy S3 (i-9300). I recently updated to Jelly Bean via Samsung Kies (baseband version I9300DXDLI5) and there's a change that has been bugging me. In stock ICS, when the screen turned off due to inactivity, pressing either the power button or the home button would turn on the screen and lets me pick up where i left off.
I recently themed my phone using Nova Launcher (did a fairly good job too) and it's a three screen layout with 7 widgets. Ever since I've installed it my battery drains far too quick. For example I charged my phone completely at 9pm last night before I went to bed and by 3 am my battery had completely drained.
I am now banging my head on my desk after several hours of trying to resolve this issue.
Bought phone used a few weeks ago. Every thing has been working fine. Yesterday the phone froze up while answering a call. Now the phone's power button stopped waking up the phone. It will wake up if I plug it into the charger.

Hi,
I update my htc one x to the jelly bean update yesterday. I have been on stock all this while and updated to the official ota. I have not installed any roms yet or unlocked the phone. Since i updated i seem to be having a strange problem. When the phone goes to sleep for prolonged periods, and i try to turn it on, the screen remains black.
Hey guys, sadly i'm a bit of a scrub so i may have a rough time detailing all that actually went down.
Basically i was running Odin and attempting to root my phone. All seemed to be working fine until my phone went to restart, at which point it stopped working.
I can go into Downloading Mode, but that's all.
So I have had CM10 for a couple days and today I was just texting someone and then the phone shuts off. I can't get into the Android download page, or the android options menu. The weird thing is that when I hold the power button I can feel a vibration in the phone. I have tried where you take the battery out, hold power fro 10 seconds, then try to turn it on.
