So I was on the computer today when it said not all updates where installed and I clicked on partial upgrade and then it popped up as distribution upgrade but what it shows me looks just like just a steam and a kernel upgrade or is it a legit distribution upgrade.
I don't want to upgrade to 13.04 until it's release date
I'm trying to upgrade my 10.04 server using do-release-upgrade, but it keeps saying there is no new version available.
If I change the prompt config in /etc/update-manager/release-upgrades to normal, I am able to upgrade to 10.10 though, but I don't want to perform 4 separate upgrades in order to reach the new lts.
When I connect via SSH, I get this:
Code:
Welcome to Ubuntu 13.04 (GNU/Linux 3.8.0-19-generic x86_64)
* Documentation: https://help.ubuntu.com/
0 packages can be updated.
0 updates are security updates.
New release '13.04' available.
Run 'do-release-upgrade' to upgrade to it.
So, apparently, it's encouraging me to upgrade from 13.04 to 13.04
Any idea what is going on?
P.S.
After hearing about some of the features in 12.10, I decided to upgrade my Ubuntu from 12.04 LTS to the newer 12.10.
My Ubuntu 11.04 installation refuses to perform updates for the past month.
I decided to upgrade to 12.04 LTS. I have a separate partition for /home.
How can I upgrade without losing my programs and data?
The update manager does not show anything as possible upgrade.
I'm trying to upgrade our ubuntu server 11.04 to 11.10. I did an apt-get update and apt-get dist-upgrade. Now, im trying to execute do-release upgrade.
I have an Ubuntu server and last week I ran
Code:
do-release-upgrade
and it did the upgrade perfectly. It also did every other upgrade for the last 2 years no problem. When the upgrade finished and it rebooted, I SSH into it and it told me again there is an update. But when I run the command again it tells me there's no upgrade available.
My ubuntu distribution upgrade got corrupted.
New release 'oneiric' available.
Run 'do-release-upgrade' to upgrade to it.
2222222-desktop:~$ do-release-upgrade
Checking for a new ubuntu release
No new release found
why does it say there is an upgrade then says it does not find it?
I have been slowly upgrading from 9x to 11.04. I had some issues along the way but nothing google could not help me with.
