It’s been a long battle between Google and their Wallet app and NFC-equipped Verizon devices.
Google announced yesterday that it would not offer its Nexus One smartphone on Verizon's network, referring consumers instead to the HTC Incredible, reports eWEEK. In other Android news, Motorola is offering Skyhook's location technology on its Android phones instead of Android's native tools, potentially representing a major loss of valuable location-based information for Google....
Earlier this week Jelly Bean had begun appearing on Nexus S devices in Pakistan. Today on the Nexus Google+ account, they announced that Jelly Bean is currently being released to customers on at least five different carriers around the world, presumably, this includes the unlocked GSM models too.
For almost a year, Sprint has had the monopoly on full Google Voice integration. That monopoly may be in jeopardy.
and I have unlimited data on Verizon, which where I live is the only 4G LTE network, so I can't switch carriers. I can't see myself ever being happy with a non-Nexus phone. Sigh.
I will upgrade to the Galaxy Note 3 when it comes out since it doesn't look like Verizon will ever get another Nexus. And I am sure it will be a great phone, but it won't be a Nexus.:'(

Always loved the idea of having scans of all my credit cards on my phone in some sort of "wallet" that I could swipe at the retail counter for payment.
Google Wallet was supposed to be just that.
However, most all the major phone carriers have blocked Google Wallet.
Verizon has officially told the AP that the SIM slot on its iPhone 5, which shipped unlocked, won’t be re-locked later on, as was the case with the initial shipment of Sprint iPhone 4S devices sold last year.
My understanding is that Verizon is supposed to fully roll out lte to their entire footprint in the next few months. With the open devices clause from their spectrum auction, does that mean Google could in theory throw an unlocked nexus device together that would work on verizon's network?
As some Sprint customers begin to receive their pre-ordered Galaxy Nexus phones, we have learned that the device is running Android 4.0.4, which is a more updated version than Verizon’s Galaxy Nexus, which is still only on 4.0.2.
