Running perl script in solaris 10 machine. Know the RAM Size is 25 GB. Have two queries.
Normally How much RAM memory a solaris process is allocated. Is it a default value assigned to any script or process. where it can be set? How do i determine how much max static array size can i have and how much dynamic memory can i allocate?
I'm running Lucid (10.4) server and using KVM. My server is x64 with 12GB of memory. I created 2 VMs, both using Kubuntu 8.10. I allocated 2GB ram to the first image and 1GB to the second VM.
However the memory consumption in the server is about 2x that. almost 7GB and neither of the VMs is actually running.
I am running a C program on Linux 2.6.16 kernel. I do not think there are memory leaks in my program however the memory consumption for the program remains stable after certain operations and does not decrease. I use the 'ps v ' command to monitor the RSS value of my program.
The valgrind massif tool shows a large portion of heap is allocated by mmap in my process.
Running latest Android for Galaxy Tab 8.9 and bought a 32GB USB flash memory stick for file transfers, etc. Would not work. Searched the net for clues and could not find any.
I am running apache on Fedora with mod_perl. The server forks a process to send an email frequently - and the fork exits.
Suddenly, I got: Cannot fork: Cannot allocate memory. There was plenty of free memory in the system, not too many apache processes running. Restarting the server httpd graceful resolved the issue.
What would cause something like this?
I have an LG -E405 phone running Android 2.3.6.
As can be seen here, the phone has 1GB internal memory and 384Mb RAM.
When I look at default App manager, this is what I get,
RAM - 231Mb
System Memory - 157 Mb.
Internal Memory - 378Mb.
SD Card - 2Gb.
Also, all the applications I install, by default take up space from System memory.
Many tutorials explain about moving apps from internal memor
We are server with 48 GB RAM.( We have installed ESXi 4.1 )
For each VM we are allocating 4GB of memory. Since the server is having 13 VM, My manager thinks that i am doing wrong thing.
I am going to explain them that it will actually manage by itself.
On Windows 7 and Windows 2008 SP2, how can I view who or what is using up my memory?
