Android: Remotely check what application is running bluetooth

view story

http://stackoverflow.com – I am creating an application that will be required to scan for local devices running the same app, using bluetooth as the transfer medium. My question is: Is it possible to check what application is running on a certain bluetooth socket, so that I can filter out all bluetooth devices that are not broadcasted by my application? Also, I have little experience with using Bluetooth in Android, but does Bluetooth work similarly to TCP/IP where certain ports are associated to certain apps (ex. port 53 = DNS) so that I can simply check if the devices are using bluetooth on my app's designated port (HowTos)
