http://forum.xda-developers.com – Unfortunately there is still no good printing solution for Android. In my regard the lack of a reliable way to print documents without cloud is the hottest missing feature of Android. Good luck there already is the awesome CUPS printing system available, unfortunately not for Android. Would be great if we can get CUPS to Android and make it possible to print directly to the printers in the LAN with PPD. Minimum goal: - print PDF, PNG, JPG, TXT files directly to a network attached printer with support for either PostScript 3 or Printer Command Language - PDF Direct Print 1.4 support c (HowTos)

We have released a new app that can help your Android to print directly to printers without internet connection, or an printer share software.

It has occurred to me that a workstation can connect to a printer in two ways: 1). Printing directly to the IP of the printer with the print driver installed locally. 2).

Running "OpenSuSE 11.4" with "cups-client-1.4.6-6.1.i586" installed, I try to use one single CUPS-server to do all my printing jobs / to manage my queues.

In YaST -> printer I've selected

[x] Do All Printing Directly via One Single CUPS Server

and next to the field "name or IP Address" I enter print (as a CNAME for our print server), but no queue comes up in main window.

Hi all,

I am working on a project where i would like to install a printing system that makes it possible to print over my network.

There are 4 printers spread over the entire network. These printers should only be approached through a print-server. (I use SAMBA and CUPS as print-server because i use windows and linux clients)

Hi I cant print in firefox 3.6 by cups. Whe i go to file print i see the printers. The file is send to the wright printer. Printer crasch. I look on internet en found a solution. Firefox can only print to file. I had to add gtk-printer-backbands ="lpr,file" in /etc/gtk-2.0 in the file gtkr. and restart cups

I am developing one app in which i have to print one receipt, receipt has one logo(static) image view, how can i print this to bluetooth printer, and i am new to this printing stuff, can any body help me by suggesting the configuration for bluetooth printer, i need to buy one printer for testing app. Is there any specification for printers? or any bluetooth printer will work?

I have a HP Deskjet 5740 that was printing fine until a recent update. I have no idea why it has stopped printing. All it does not is have documents sit in queue forever and not print. I have tried removing cups via the software center and re-instlaling but no luck. Have also tried installing HPLIP-CUPS via the center and no luck. I'm really stumped and would like this to work again.

I've just installed OpenSUSE 11.2 with KDE via DVD. I've checked media for errors. Installation went fine and so far the OS is great and is pleasing me better than Kubuntu.
