Android phone (Samsung GSIII) not detected

view story

http://askubuntu.com – I'm currently having an issue with Ubuntu 12.10 not seeing my Android phone. I plug it in, and nothing happens. My phone charges, but it doesn't detect a USB connection, and neither does Ubuntu. They aren't seeing each other. aafm doesn't work, and neither does gmtp. It could be that I'm on a custom ROM, but Windows 7 picks it up just fine. Really frustrating that Windows communicates better with Android than Linux. Thanks for any help! (HowTos)
