I always believed that one of the biggest benefits of going to 1280x720 is that we should finally be rid of app compatibility problems.
Anyone still having problems with any apps? Since we are S3 resolution identical now, I assume this list should be close to nil.
Anyone trying apps that didn't work before? Horn, for example, just totally crashes on the Note 1.
Hey, I have been trying to root my fathers Kindle Fire HD so he can get the google play store and the google apps(maps, streetview etc) but I seem to have hit a wall!
I have installed the drivers and the Android SDK Tools program etc and got to the point where I open RunMe.bat through command prompt, but nothing happens on the Kindle, and now when I connect it to my computer, instead of popping
I was wondering if anyone had any thoughts about a way to replace the CPU for a Pocket eDGe and still maintain compatibility. I'm specifically interested in replacing it with something that has hardware graphics acceleration support, because that seems to be the thing that kills most compatibility with modern Android apps.
OK, so I am trying to move some (most!) of my apps from the the BIONIC to the Infinity, but I'm having some problems. I can't find some of these apps in the store at all, and some won't show up. I've seen some apps are not compatible with the tablet, but others simply cannot be found at all.
Google Maps crashes on me when I use Google Navigation now. Maps is also acting funny even when not navigating. My phone is stock with basic apps and I have never had any issues like this with Android.
Please post up if your Google Navigation and Maps work as they did with ICS.
If nobody is having problems I am going to have Verizon replace my phone.
Soon, we should all see better maps within some of the apps that we use. Today, Google launched an update to their Maps API that developers will use to incorporate Google Maps into their apps. This new API version will benefit both developers on the front-end as well as users on their end.
When checking settings/apps/running apps, I see that Google Services and Maps show two running instances of each. I am running 4.2.1 on my nexus 7, and I don't see any performance problems with battery life or apps. Everything seems just fine. I just wonder if this is something I need to pursue and correct. Any comments/suggestions are appreciated.
Thanks!
I thought it'd be a good idea to start a thread with 3rd party apps you've encountered problems with and exactly what issues they were causing.
There are a number of ways to get Amazon and Google Play Gift Cards and several paid apps for free but only one of them is really good.
