Android 2.2, code-named "Froyo," will fully support Adobe's Flash platform, Andy Rubin, Google's vice president of engineering, told The New York Times' Bits blog Tuesday.
Google on Thursday took the wraps off "Froyo," the next version of Android that's been bolstered with new speed, tethering capabilities and Flash support. Announced at Google I/O, version 2.2 of Android -- the seventh platform release since it was launched in 2008 -- includes a raft of new features for both users and developers.
Guys,
I'm considering switching from my current iPhone 4S (that I have for like 1 year now) to a Samsung Galaxy S4...
The main reasons why I'm considering this switch;
1) Google Maps... most of us know that Apple had huge issues when they introduced their iOS6
2) iOS' lack of flash support...
Adobe launched Flash Player 11.1 -- its final mobile browser plug-in for Android smartphones and tablets -- along with AIR 3.1. While it's set to give way to HTML5, Flash 11.1 adds support for Android 4.0 plus a variety of performance, stability, and device update enhancements, according to the company....
So does the Droid Incredible version of Froyo come preloaded with Flash 10.1? When going into Market, i cannot find a Flash 10.1 app with any keyword (flash, adobe, 10.1, etc...). When trying to install a Flash apk found from google, it says the app will replace a system app. When looking the manage applications program, under the All tab there is a Adobe Flash Player 10.1 version 10.1.72.7.
Last updated - 21 Aug; rolled out after discontinuation of Flash support for Android.
Though older version seemed to have issues with Chrome browser, this one works very smooth with it.
Tested on Stock F/W, Stock Kernel but Rooted @160dpi.

That news may impact the Motorola Xoom, as it runs Android 3.0 aka "Honeycomb." Android 3.0.1 is Honeycomb with the latest Google updates. Adobe lists a number of new features of Flash Player 10.2.
