Hey... So.. i know this gonna sound nooby and stupid but.. I've been thinking about rooting and searching why would most people wanna root their android phones and it turned out to be mainly for getting free wifi tethering or the free hotspot the quistion is... what exactly is this free wifi tethering i really want to know everything about it.

I thought I'd be able to tether my phone with legal apps such as foxfi. I can't seem to use it, and a number of sources have told me that i still need to enable the wifi tethering service with verizon in order to get those apps to work. but that conflicts with the above link!

AndroidPolice claims to have tested a pre-release version of Android 2.2 (& Froyo& ), and says it's up to 450 percent faster than Android 2.1, thanks largely to the addition of a JIT (just in time) compiler. The operating system upgrade will also offer USB tethering and WiFi hotspot support, says TechCrunch....
