Huawei’s D series of devices has received three new additions to it’s family, the Ascend D quad, quad XL and Ascend D1. Each iteration of the Ascend D will come with it’s own differentiations in specifications, appropriate to each tier of model. Details for the Ascend D quad have been released for us to drool upon.
Just in time for 2014′s Consumer Electronics Show, Polaroid has unveiled a new line of tablets in the United States. The Q Series line will include 7, 8, and 10-inch sizes. The names are quite simple — Q7, Q8, and Q10. The tablets will feature quad-core processors that run Android 4.4 KitKat.
As expected, AMD used a morning press conference in Taipei to announce its tablet-specific Z-Series processors -- the first of which is the dual-core Z-01, with a 5.9-Watt TDP. The chipmaker also reviewed branding plans for its A-Series & Llano& processor for notebooks, shipping this month, and previewed downsized APUs (accelerated processing units) it plans to release later this year....
Yesterday at the International Solid-State Circuits Conference, Samsung showed their new Exynos chip, which can come in dual-core and quad-core configurations. Frequencies range from 200 MHz to 1.5 GHz, and it’s 32nm part, which is down from 45nm with the previous chip.
AMD announced the availability of two new Embedded G-Series processors with TDP ratings of 5.5 and 6.4 Watts, said to be up to 39 percent more power efficient than an earlier 1.2GHz G-Series processor.
At an Intel news conference held during Mobile World Congress, Intel President Renee James launched the 64-bit Intel Atom Z34xx processor series (formerly Merrifield) for smartphones and tablets, announced a next-generation, quad-core Z35xx processor series codenamed Moorefield, and detailed a multi-mode 2G/3G/4G/LTE communications chipset dubbed the XMM 7160.
