Hi,
I'm trying to install the amd 12.4 driver in fedora 17 machine but I get this errors.
[root@aqua Descargas]# uname -a

Code:
# ./amd-driver-installer-12-4-x86.x86_64.run

I can not install fglrx ATI drivers/Catalyst 12.8.
Another release, another fglrx tracking thread.
AMD have just released the official 12.10 drivers. While Quantal (and as such Raring) has working drivers in the repos (for HD5k+ cards) the AMD release is a little newer (fglrx 9.002 compared to 9.000).
Download is here: http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownloa...eon_linux.aspx
You need to extract it.
Hi,
I am using an ATI Radeon 9800 se with HDMI connection.
I have two choices :
1/ First one is to install the free driver of Xorg and my screen has a good display but I CANNOT use special 3D effect with compiz or others 3D application.
2/ Install the last official driver of ATI for this card but it's the reverse.
I have been trying all day to get a driver up and running on my quad core 64b machine runing 11.10 32b.
I put the driver into downloads and eventually got it permission.
However I am not there yet.
the commands chmod u+x ati-driver-installer-11-x86.x86_64.run sudo ./ati-driver-installer-11-x86.x86_64.run Didnt work
sudo sh ./ati-driver-installer-11-12-x86.x86_64.run
gives sh: Cant open sudo sh ./
I am really new to ubuntu. Installed 12.10 it this weekend. The interface is lagging me like crazy and I think it is because I can't get my 6950 drivers installed. I downloaded the latest drivers from AMD.com. I am a noob so all I did was type "sudo sh amd-driver-installer-catalyst-13.1-linux-x86.x86_64.run" I don't know if I need to do anything else by the way.. Heh.
I followed the instructions here
What is the correct way to install ATI Catalyst Video Drivers (fglrx)?
in the second part of the subject they said Installing the ATI Catalyst Drivers for 12.10
when I reach the line command
sudo sh amd-driver-12-6-x86_64.run
the terminal type that problem:
