http://forums.opensuse.org – I've just finished installing 11.2, and as far as I understand, I've configured my sound card (Audigy 2 ZS)...at least I do have system sounds. I attempted to use Amarok to stream audio over my cable connection (3.3Mbps). I enabled everything that I could find in the sound mixer and unmuted all, but I still get no streaming audio, even though Amarok indicates that it is receiving the station. What is it that I haven't done? (Distributions)

after installing additional driver of AMD ATI Readon 4000 there is no audio playback in Amarok.

whats setting going wrong ? as i open amarok dialog box opens of Kmix and ask me to switch on Built in Analog audio. i did that as well still there is no Audio playback in amarok.

i can play music on cleamentine and dragon player.

Amarok is my fav player.

After a recent update I've been having sound distortion issues streaming audio files in my browser, or playing them in Amarok. However, if I play the same file in VLC the distortion goes away.

It is hard to describe the distorted sound, it is as if another layer has been added to the audio.

I am running Suse 11.2 on a MacPro. I have configured my SoundSticks to be the preferred device in Yast:Sound. I have left the 631xESB/632xESB High Definition Audio Controller and a Logitech USB Headset "Not configured" so that the SoundSticks are at index 0 and are the only configured sound device.

If a KDE app is using sound, no other applications can use the sound.

For example: If I log in to KDE, and watch a video on youtube then start amarok, the youtube audio stops. No other applications can use the audio until amarok is closed. Any ideas?

Hi all, I'm having some trouble using the Amarok music player. When i click the icon in applications, the splash screen shows up, then quickly disappears. Running: amarok --debug in console gives me:

Using 11.3 x86_64, when I play music off of any audio CD, there is a 'hiccup' or 'stutter' in the audio every few seconds while playback continues. This stutter sounds like the sound is just dropping out, or the playback is pausing, very briefly. This problem happens every time using Amarok, KsCD, Kaffeine. Files in various formats playback smoothly from an external hard drive.

Just a follow up to this for anyone with the same issue.  I ended up installing alsa, alsa-oss, and pulseaudio-alsa, and then configuring them with an Alsa Mixer (in this case xfce4-mixer, but there are others) and Pulseaudio Volume Control (pavucontrol).  In Pulseaudio Volume Control, I disabled 'HD-Audio Generic', as it is for the HDMI output of my graphics card, and set &#03
