I've been using fluxbox on my netbook, and have been very pleased. That is, with everything but one feature. I would really like it if I could use fluxbox with the added functionality that when I use alt+tab it will show me the windows I am switching between. (As it does in Windows/Mac/GNOME/KDE/Xfce/...). Is there some app I can install that would do that?
The Fluxbox version of the recently launched Salix OS 13.37 has been released. Along with the updates from the Xfce version, Salix OS Fluxbox 13.37 comes with the Fluxbox 1.3.1 windows manager and several other changes. "Salix Fluxbox 13.37 is here, available in both 32-bit and 64-bit architectures! Everyone who has used the 13.1 Fluxb... (read more)
I thought I would start this thread because I really like Fluxbox with Crunchbang and I would like to have a place to share information with other Fluxbox fans . The default Fluxbox Debian install from the repository is not really my taste so I modified it. I really like the way the original Fluxbox toolbar looks so the first change I made was to restore it to the original state.
Done, the problem still remains the same.Don't know if it might help, but I have enable the logs when Fluxbox starts (in the file .fluxbox/startup).
I'm using fluxbox on Arch, and the time is displayed incorrectly in the panel. The time works in XFCE, so I'm not sure why it isn't working in fluxbox.
Is there a way to set the time in fluxbox from the internet?
Just a quick note to say that I have been an XFCE user for a couple of years now, but I recently decided to try my hand at Fluxbox. It took awhile to get it like I wanted it, but I gotta say that I rarely find myself booting into XFCE anymore. Fluxbox just feels snappier. I've also really grown to like Tint2 as opposed to the XFCE panel. Part of me feels disloyal to XF
This is my first time using fluxbox.
I installed fluxbox on Gentoo Linux.
I have read fluxbox wiki about font and done instruction in it, but nothing happened. I'm still unable to change fluxbox font.
I also checked whether my desired font is detected by X with xfontsel.
Maybe I miss some package.
Any help?

I'm trying to setup Fluxbox to look nice on my machine as I familiar with it and find it functional.
One thing stoping me from moving to it fulltime, while seemingly trivial, is that it looks ugly. I have a 1680x1050 screen and fluxbox does not seem to have even basic anti-alliasing.
Menus and corners of windows look jagged and, well, not nice.
What can I do to make Fluxbox look nicer? e.g.
