Alternatives to Pidgin

http://crunchbanglinux.org – Hi all,I use Pidgin for online communication using (predominantly) MSN and XMPP. It's more out of havbit than any conscious desire to use that particular software. Does anyone have any suggestions of alternative software to use which is potentially more lightweight than pidgin? The predominant protocol I want to use is XMPP / Google chat. I'd like the ability to transfer files over MSN if possible, though it's not of huge importance. Don't mind whether it's GTK or QT, as long as it doesn't pull in a load of hideous gnome / kde dependencies. I should be clear that (HowTos)
