Hi, I'm aware of that there are many threads about this, but none seem to apply to me.I'm new to using Tiling Window Managers, but am not afraid of learning an advanced one. What I want is a very fast tiling window manager and that I can extend it by using C++. I will need the mouse for chromium, so having a mouse functionality is mandatory.
Is there a tiling window manager that allows you to rearrange tiles using the mouse, I know that isn't what normally is done, I just don't have a physical computer setup that lend's itself well to having my hands continually on the keyboard.

Check out the Distcc wiki entries both here and at the Arch ARM site.

When I tried Xrender under KWin, minimizing a window took about four seconds, switching workspaces slightly longer.

What do you mean by "icons in the directory?" Do you mean the "occupied" and "active" icons for your tags (like the little squares in the corner)?

Not the first time this has come up, but I haven't seen any solution since. Netcfg does a bit better, in my experience, but still has DHCP issues from time to time. Frankly I'm not sure where to even begin troubleshooting, as I'm sure most universities won't just hand out network info to anyone asking.

I'd guess this is a KDE option, since the PC speaker beeping 3 times after resume seems weird. KDE 4.9 was released right around the time you started getting the sound, too, so it might be a new feature. I haven't used KDE in quite some time, but you can check something like "System Settings -> Sounds -> Events" and see if a sound is set to play on resume.
You should try to reproduce this, then, as Inxsible suggested, and maybe provide some screenshots to confirm a possible bug. Post the results on Flyspray.jasonwryan beat me to it. I need to stop taking coffee breaks while posting.

Absolutely none of this is a problem with Pacman. Period.EDIT: Packagekit isn't even a GNOME dependency, so there's really no reason to even post this on these forums.
