I am aware of the many issues surrounding posters not using code tags around code or data. Could we somewhat alleviate this issue by having a better icon that shows more clearly its function?
There are just too many posts in this forum where users post code right into the thread without code tags. Maybe they don't know about code tags or how to use them. I feel that it would be very helpful for everyone if users put all their code in code tags.
It's a real pain to read code not in code tags, and it is mandatory for some languages like Python.
I store different variance of the below in an xml file. and apparently, xml has an issue loading up data like this because it contains html tags. i would like to preserve this data as it is, but unfortunately, xml says i cant.
so i have to strip out all the html tags.
the examples i found online tend to strip out the tags AND also the content, which i dont want. i need the content.
You can use code tags. There doesn't seem to be anything that only removes the special meaning of the tags without applying any special formatting. Nested code tags seem to work too (for a code tag example):
code here
You can use code tags like this:
....
There is also a button on the text edit page that adds tags to selected text You can also use the link at the top of the page to chakra's pastebin http://paste.chakra-project.org/index.php
