Alsa default card name

http://www.linuxquestions.org – I'm pulling my hair out over this, maybe for no good reason. I have both SI7012 (on-board) and USB sound cards working fine. I have /etc/modprobe.d/sound.conf setup to force SI7012 as card 0 and USB as card 1. Why does /proc/asound/cards name the USB "default"? Where is this name defined and can I change it? The SI7012 is card 0 thus truly the default. FWIW this is Slackware 13.1. /proc/asound/cards: Quote: 0 [SI7012 ]: ICH - SiS SI7012 SiS SI7012 with CMI9738 at irq 18 1 [default ]: USB-Audio - USB Audio CODEC (HowTos)
