[all variants] Why Are Install Images Larger On My Drive Than On the Mirrors?

http://ubuntuforums.org – Why are 12.04 install images larger on my drive than on Ubuntu's mirrors? I whined here and elsewhere last week that every 12.04 install CD I burned and tried failed to boot, producing an error message about needing to load a kernel. Today, someone told me that the images were simply too large for the CD's. Sure enough, they are. I see images typically sized at 695-698MB on the mirrors. But, when they're on my Mac's drive, they measure 730-732MB, too big for a 700MB CD. So, what accounts for the difference? Is it down to different file systems? (Hardware)

Hey guys, This is my first post on androidcentral :)

So yeah, i just bought a new cheap android tablet

Code: Hardware Specs: 512mb ddr3 Ram MALI-400 GPU Arm-v7 1Ghz processor What i'm trying to do is to load 70Megapixel and larger images. The issue is that most if not all apps crash when trying to load such large images!

I have a RAID 5 array with 3 Disks:

/dev/sdb /dev/sdc /dev/sdd

Over last weekend i was prompted that SDD had failed. so replaced the drive, added it back into the array and let it rebuild (1.5TB)

It stopped at about 64% with an error, found out that /dev/sdb is failing as well.

I imaged SDD onto a new drive (ddrescue) and SDB onto a new drive (ddrescue).

I got a used dvd drive (optiarc dvd rw ad-7220A) and it seemed to work OK, so I burned a bunch of data and also some iso images. K3b showed successful burns.

I'm installing Fedora 12 by booting a USB pen drive, containing vmlinuz and initrd.gz. After booted, I use /dev/hda1/install.img to provide the install image, which is also the place where I've put all cd iso images.

I need guidelines from someone more experienced than me, ( in developing android applications and web images)

Here is the problem

I have an application with let say 10 images.

I need to load different images of a car which is saved in drawable, when ever user drag through the view I have set a drag distance once user cross it i will load the next frame. I am using surface view and to draw the images over the canvas.

not booting from usb or cd 33 weeks 1 day ago

I am trying to install linux on my laptop, a Toshiba Satellite C6550-S5200. I did it once but something happened so I removed it then I had to destroy all data on hard drive so now I have nothing on it. Well I got a iso file burned to a CD and to a flash drive. With the flash drive I get.

I recently purchased a new/larger drive and overnight I cloned my old one on to it. Unfortunately after replacing the old drive in the laptop I can no longer boot any of the OSes that were previously on it (I had both an Ubuntu install and a Windows 7 install). I was using a SATA to USB adapter to clone the drive.
