Hey. I've just recently started using Ubuntu on my MacBook, and I actually quite like it. A major problem I've run into, however, is that the trackpad is rather sluggish and stiff. I have to press a whole section of my finger on the trackpad for it to register anything, and even then it moves quite slow. I've tried cranking up the sensitivity and acceleration, but that's not worked either.
I have fixed my trackpad's crappy sensitivity using this and also this. While both of these problems are fixed, and the trackpad is much nicer now, there's one thing preventing me from calling it perfect. Trying to two finger click is horrendous now. Any time I try to place two fingers on the trackpad and click, it scrolls.
Hey,
I've installed Ubuntu 11.10 on my PowerBook G4 1.67ghz 15" (PowerBook5,8 ) and the trackpad has poor sensitivity/response with slow finger movement. For example, when I lightly move my finger the cursor initially stays put, then all-of-the-sudden starts a second later. It will not initially respond to an X direction movement if I'm going in the Y, and vice versa.
Yes, I adjusted the mouse preferences first. The sensitivity is all the way down. I don't feel that did anything.
Hello, I'm on a Lenovo Thinkpad. My mouse is way too jittery. For example, if I just place my finger on my trackpad without moving it, the mouse will wiggle around quite a bit on the screen.
I want to install Crunchbang on my 2006 Macbbook but there is an issue with the trackpad. Currently I am using the Live CD and am unable to find a way to "right click". In Linux Mint on the Macbook I am able to tap the trackpad with two fingers which acts as a right click.
I've been tinkering with various settings for both xf86-input-synaptics and xf86-input-mtrack-git from the AUR. They both work relatively well, but I can't quite get the functionality I'd like from either and am hoping someone here has found a solution.
Hey there.
So I've managed to install Ubuntu 12.04 on my MBA 2012 and my one issue is with the trackpad.
I went into system settings and changed the touchpad sensitivity to max, yet it seems to make little difference. It's still far too low. I'm very new to Linux and I'd love some advice on this issue as my google-fu has proved weak .
Thanks in advance.
I have the trackpad working. both with noirq settings and latest sputnik updates. But the trackpad is insanely sensitive. Lifting my finger off of the pad causes the cursor to jump, it twitches an awful lot with my finger on it.
Any suggestions?
hi,
I've just installed ubuntu 12.10 on my macbook 1,1 (april 2006).
everything seems to be fine except the trackpad.
the response is very slow and inaccurate, however both the left and the right click works fine.
do you think it's a driver problem?
or unity is too heavy for such an old cpu?
thanks!
