By default on mac os, with two fingers I can do this:
-leave a finger on the mouse pad, and move another finger, and still be able to move the mouse
-two finger scrolling requires both fingers be moving
this is handy, as sometimes (because the trackpad is so large, I leave my thumb on the "button" (or any other fingers depending on how I'm sitting) for clicking, as clicking AND moving the cursor
I recently upgraded to OpenSUSE 11.2 w/KDE interface from OpenSUSE 11.1 w/Gnome. I've got most of the bugs worked out except for configuring the trackpad behavior. Specifically, I want to dial down its sensitivity a little bit and disable the 'tap click' feature that recognizes a tap on the trackpad as a mouse click.
I have fixed my trackpad's crappy sensitivity using this and also this. While both of these problems are fixed, and the trackpad is much nicer now, there's one thing preventing me from calling it perfect. Trying to two finger click is horrendous now. Any time I try to place two fingers on the trackpad and click, it scrolls.
Hey. I've just recently started using Ubuntu on my MacBook, and I actually quite like it. A major problem I've run into, however, is that the trackpad is rather sluggish and stiff. I have to press a whole section of my finger on the trackpad for it to register anything, and even then it moves quite slow. I've tried cranking up the sensitivity and acceleration, but that's not worked either.
I'm trying to figure out how to disable the right hand side of my trackpad in Ubuntu. The default behavoir is for the right hand side to right click. However, I would like a single click anywhere on the pad to act as a single click, while having a two finger press behave as a right click.
I also have a sony vaio T-series SVT13122CXS and am running 12.10.
Thanks for any help.
Hi,
I'm using ubuntu Lucid on a MBP (pre-unibody) for more than a year now. Last week I bought a MBP 5.4 (unibody).
Hi,
I just installed Xubuntu 12.04 on my HP Pavilion dv6 laptop, and the right trackpad button does not work. When I click it, it registers as a left mouse click, and there is currently nothing I can do for a right click.
As far I can see, that is the only thing wrong. Tap to click works, and so do both the two-fingered scroll and right-edge scroll.
I want to install Crunchbang on my 2006 Macbbook but there is an issue with the trackpad. Currently I am using the Live CD and am unable to find a way to "right click". In Linux Mint on the Macbook I am able to tap the trackpad with two fingers which acts as a right click.
On OSX I use Zooom2 to move my windows around with keyboard shortcuts and mouse motion. This operates in a very similar manner to Ubuntu, with the following difference:
On Zooom2, I have it set so holding down Shift + Cmd when the cursor is over a window and dragging the mouse moves said window.
