Hi I am an reasonable experianced linux user. I usually manage to google most of my problems but this one has drawn a blank. I am trying to set up a little music recording thing to practise my guitar and keyboard on and record it on the computer but it does not seem to want to play ball. rakarrack or rosegarden etc it say's jackd is not working.
I'm looking for a ''guitar amp'' (like guitar rig or amplitube) program for android, but didn't found it...
so I'm trying to share this wish for a solution.
I don't believe that no one had the idea of develop this kind of app.
:thrasher: play guitar whit android phone
I'm running Linux, and was recommended to use Ardour and Rakarrak for recording, but I haven't even gotten Jackd to recognize my guitar. Currently, the guitar is connected with a 1/4" to 1/8" cable directly from the pre-amp pickup in the guitar to the Mic In on my computer. Help!

I'm experiencing some trouble controlling the sound input and outputs on my laptop.
Hello all.
Like many amatuer musicians I feel my sound sucks! (at least I hope its not just me [-o< ).
To be precise, its mainly my guitar sound that sucks. I have an old Yamaha Pacifica guitar running through a Marshall VS100 combo amp with an SM57 shoved in front for close mic recording.
Forty years ago I was enraptured by the ability to control a machine using software logic, which diverted me from electrical engineering to software development. Somewhere along the line I realized that developing software for software's sake is not very useful, as I recognized that not everyone had the same fascination for computers and computing that I did.
Dear friends, I need some very, very, very basic help. Here is my situation: I consider myself an experienced musician with something in the range of 30+ years of guitar, mostly acoustic jazz. I have also been using GNU/Linux (mostly Ubuntu and Debian) for the past 10 years. However, I have never used *any* digital device to record music and this is what I want to do now.
No he's not. He was around long before the microchip. Geesh! I showed my 18 year old daughter a clip of Eric Johnson playing Cliffs of Dover. Much to my surprise she recognized the music. Catching me completely off guard she says "Hey! He's from Guitar Hero!
Well, I don't know how old Eric Johnson is but a ton of the music that is used in Guitar Hero is 60's and 70's stuff.
I can playback my guitar through the mic in once ive recorded something, but I cant hear the guitar in real-time as I could in Windows?
Any help greatly appreciated
Thanks
