Hello
Pls correct me if i put the topic in a wrong place.

Good morning,
I'm new here and not a native speaker, so please bear with me and my English.
What I want to do:
I want to replace my openSUSE server by an Ubuntu server 12.04.1 LTS.
I used to have Ubuntu Server 12.10, and I used to connect to it with my Windows PC using SSH. All I had to do was turn my server computer on and next thing I could do was run my PuTTY and connect to it.
Hi
I currently run an SME server and understand most basic topics for setup and domain records but feel that I would like to install more packages that I would not be able to do on SME due to their templating methods of the server design.

Hello,
I have a box with Ubuntu 12.04 LTS that originally was used as a desktop PC but now it is a server. compiz is taking up a lot of CPU resources. Is it ok to stop compiz? Would doing so cause problems on the server?
The server is offsite and I'm using SSH to get to it.
We have been setting up a server in my networking class using Ubuntu Server. I SSH'd into it using putty and made an account. Then, I began messing with it, trying to put my name in the sudoers file. I believe I succeeded, but, when I went to the server itself, which now has the desktop GUI installed, it showed my name, and the name of another user who did the same thing as me, in parenthesis.
