I just upgraded to KDE 4.8 via ppa. Now when I want to login at the login screen, KDE does not accept my password anymore. But I can login in terminal/console.
What can I do?
Can I start the desktop gui at least from Konsole? But how? I don't know the console command.
Please, help!
I have installed Kubuntu 12.04 LTS.By mistake I removed default login screen (Ariya).
It is showing this message "Cannot login /user/shared/kde4/apps/kdm/themes/ariya"
now I am not able to login to previous GUI.It is getting login in command line. How to resolve problem?
I've downloaded several ARM (armel - omap4) prebuilt/preinstalled images: ubuntu precise, kubuntu precise and older ones, but always having the same problem. I can not login.
I installed Kubuntu today and had this problem:
Dual boot launched, it asked for login and pass, I gave it and it stops at a black command line screen that has my computer name
hk@hkP5K-WM:~$
I types startx and it says: FATAL: Error inserting nvidia_173 (...): No such device
I then booted with nomodeset but although it booted normally, when I clicked with my Microsoft mouse there was nothing
ok, my first major upgrade and I chose the preupgrade path (i also tried preupgrade-cli).
The system downloads the version 17 and then I reboot the server to "upgrade to version 17" (after grub loads).
Then another 20 minutes when it updates 1466 packages.
Hi, I have used older versions of Ubuntu previously with no problems, but recently installed Kubuntu 12.04 onto my netbook, and set the option to login without username/password prompt.
as you see on the second files header, you should not manually edit this file.
Hi,
I have wubi installed. It was working sluggish so I rebooted. Now, in the login screen I get a message:Install problem
The configuration defaults for GNOME Power Manager
have not been installed correctly.
Please contact your computer administrator
And it is impossible to login. I can always login in console mode as root (recovery).
When I use the console without the X server, either by not starting Xorg or by pressing "CTRL-Alt-F1", the user prompt looks strange, and I can't seem to get it back.
