Hi. So I am not a first-time Linux user and I have dual-booted in the past. But today I wanted to install Ubuntu 12.04 alongside Windows 7, but when I restarted my computer with the Ubuntu live disc, it just went straight to Windows. I set the CD Drive to be the first to load on my BIOS already.
After rebooting from my Arch install, grub2-bios gave me a normal.mod is not found error message. I cannot rescue from Grub or boot into any Lived from the BIOS; for the Ubuntu Image I am just confronted with a blinking cursor on a black screen. I have tried two different pen drives, plus three different USB2/USB3 slots, none will boot.

I extracted the .iso onto a disk, and tried to boot from it. For the longest time, it wouldn't even boot, instead, it would bypass it and boot from the hard drive, until I swapped my newer disk drive for an older one. When I finally got it to boot, I got the black screen.
I am trying to install F17 on a Asus G75 Laptop. I shrank the Window7 partition using the windows disk management utility. Then installed F17 using a installation DVD. To boot the DVD I set the BIOS Boot Option Priority to P2: HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GT51M and installed Fedora without any problem. I removed the install DVD to reboot the computer.
