Hello! ):P
I am searching for a way to manipulate content(functions, possibilities) of web pages using terminal(bash scripting). For example to log into http://ubuntuforums.org account, then read new posts and maybe post a new thread. I wasn't able to find any useful information, only how to get(wget; or send mail) not to post. It would be great if it's possible :D
Thank you
Hi,
I'm troubleshooting some problems that I'm having in a terminal session connected to an AIX server. Basically, I'd like to be able to see what escape sequences are being sent in the terminal for a given key stroke.
I know there is a way to enable your terminal to display escape sequences, but I can't for the life of me remember how or find instructions now.
Thanks,
Andy
Hi there, I have been doing some touch typing training with gtypist, and was wondering what other nice tools there is on the terminal. I went trough the vimtutor, and at some point I also did some ruby koan which was really fun and nice. I'd love to do more of these training in the terminal as it is more enjoyable and relaxing somehow ~ Any tricks to share?
On Ubuntu 10.04.04 LTS with gnome-terminal 2.30.2 with serveral tab open in a terminal. When I restart my computer the terminal with all the tab is here but I cannot acces to the terminal, write or swich of tab. This is very anoying.
Is there a way to fix this ?
It's my understanding that the history file is updated when the terminal exits. But sometimes my computer crashes out, and the terminal doesn't exit cleanly, and then I lose those commands from my history which is annoying. How can I make it flush immediately, so that the entries still go there even if my computer has a meltdown?
Each time, if I want to use terminal, I press super key, typing terminal in search box, and enter to select terminal icon.
How can I have hotkey to open terminal. (I'm not say hotkey : control + alt + Fn because it will open a full-console, not what I want). I just want a terminal windows.
I have searched in keyboard shortcut, but I don't see option to select hotkey for this purpose.
I just installed Fedora 18. One issue about it is that when the terminal window lost focus, it will maximized in the background. When hit restoration, the size is different than before, that is slightly smaller than full screen size. Anybody has a clue?
Thanks

Restart the terminal will help a while.
Hi all):P. First post. I HAVE NEVER USED LINUX BEFORE, but I have started reading the help file. I downloaded ubuntu 12.10 iso, wrote to disk and installed successfully. Now all the help I've tried to get is futile because my terminal is translucent.
I'm setting up XMonad within Linux Mint, and I've been able to remove the menubar and the scrollbar from my terminal windows, but I can't get rid of the small resizing nub in the bottom right corner. Here's a screenshot:
I think it's feature of Linux Mint (maybe?), but it serves no purpose because of the nature of XMonad, so I'd love to get rid of it. It's gnome-terminal, by the way.
