I have a set of packages that I wish to install along-side the minibase variant in debootstrap. I'm having the hardest time figuring out how to customize variants so that more than just the base is installed in a chroot when debootstrap is run. Any way to achieve this?
I have a quick question, I am getting the system base debootstrap error in the middle of the 12.04 server download. I am downloading it on a desktop computer over ubuntu 11.04.
How do i Fix this! please help!!
How should one configure the cache of debootstrap globally? I haven't found its configuration file, I have to specify the local mirror all the time.
Hi, everyone.
I've being having lots of problems installing ubuntu server 12.04 lately.
I am working in a Windoze 8 machine (Evaluation licence) and I am trying to install Ubuntu server in a Virtual machine running in VMWare Workstation 9.
The iso file ubuntu-12.04-server-amd64.iso has the same hash than the one in https://help.ubuntu.com/community/UbuntuHashes: "f2e921788d35bbdf0336d0
I tried installing Ubuntu 12.04 server on my laptop using a USB stick !!
When it reached the base system installation I received this error !
Debootstrap warning
warning: file:///cdrom/portal/main/t/tzdata/tzdata_2012b-1_all.deb was corrupt
then it sends me back to the menu where I can choose either to install the base system again or proceed without installin

I'm behind a proxy but apt-get and wge
The alternative and minimal installation images do not contain drivers for my EeePC 1101HA's network devices. The module required for the ethernet is atl1c (Atheron AR8132), but the discs contain only atl1 and atl1e.
