I just got a new Gazelle Professional and I'm getting some rather disappointing battery life (2.5 hrs at best.) I checked to see if System76 themselves sells a higher capacity than the one included stock. As far as I can tell they do not. Has anyone replaced their battery yet?
I've been having a battery issue of sorts, and this seemed like the best place to ask for help. About 2 months ago, I bought a 12000 mAh high capacity battery for my EeePC from an Amazon vendor. At first it seemed like it was having issues with shutting off with a good charge left (like 40%), but then the problem seemed to go away.
I just bought a new 8800 mAh battery for my VAIO PCG-7N2L laptop, but it's not recognized by ubuntu and won't boot while the battery is actually attached. I had to replace it because the 4800mAh battery crapped out on me.

As per this topic a solution was found for my battery not being detected under Arch Linux:https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?pid=1190393I've had a few "polishing" issues; the battery stops charging at 75% and gives the wrong discharge rate (500mW). These problems are live-able in themselves, but I would _really_ like them fixed.
I have a Dell Vostro 1500. Before I wiped Windows XP off my hard drive in 2009, I had a full ~7 hrs battery capacity. I installed Ubuntu 9, and the capacity immediately dropped to about 11%. I couldn't figure out what to do, so I've just lived with the 20-30 minute battery life ever since.
I upgraded to Ubuntu 10, and the issue remained.
I've just installed a big fat battery on my Asus Eeepc 8G; it has a capacity of 10,400mAh. XFCE4 Power Manager Information reports that the battery capacity is 5,200mAh.I tried looking at the preferences and the BIOS settings, yet I can't find out how to get Power Manager to recognize the larger battery.
I live in the UK so I would like to order a battery from the UK (cheaper on postage than abroad). Ive heard people saying that these cheap higher capacity batterys arent as good as what they say. I would like someones opinion on a decent high capacity battery that is quite cheap. Thanks

My laptop lasts 1m30s after unplugging from AC power. It then throws itself into a seizure and shuts down.
It says my battery is down to 30% capacity and that it may be old or broken, too.
Just wondering, before I spend any money on a new battery, is this any kind of known glitch with switching out Vista for Ubuntu?
I've been staring at i3bar for a while now, It seems like my battery is only charging up to 56.58%, then stopping.
