I just spent hours to configure the sound to work with HDMI.
My last problem is, when I start playing sound the TV screen goes on and off, like when you change the resolution. When I stop playing sound, 3-5 seconds after, the same thing happen.
I feel like everytime I play/stop the sound, the HDMI connection needs to be resetted.
Hi Everyone,
I'm having problems with audio while using the hdmi connection to my TV. The sound keeps on dropping out every few seconds when I'm playing a movie through VUDU and Flixster. Is this a copy protection thing? Audio works fine when I'm playing a movie from Google Play (such as the free Ice Age movie we we're given).
I just bought a asus z77 lx motherboard with an i5-3570k. Everything is running so fast and smooth, but the audio only detects and hdmi device.
When I'm playing a video or something that uses sound, the volume bar goes up, but nothing comes out of my speakers (attached through the rear audio port....that much should be obvious though since the only hardware this detects is the hdmi audio out.
On a fresh install of Arch Linux, despite being an amateur at best. I'm using ATI HDMI audio using the open source driver, on GNOME 3.
Hello, running 12.10 amd64 on a ASUS M5A88-M Motherboard with a built in RS880 [Radeon HD 4250] graphics card.
I've got a nice 5.1 surround sound AV receiver which only accepts HDMI, so I'm not interested in any other way to play audio other than HDMI. I've built a home theatre PC, so having the graphics on the MoBo cuts down on space, power and fan noise.
Hi,
im running Ubunutu 12.04 (64bit) on a AMD E450 platform. I´ve installed the latest Catalyst (12.6) to run HD videos.
Now i´ve a problem i just can´t fix... and i tried for hours. The sound skips a second every 5 seconds to 10 minutes. It´s really annoying :(.
hmmm. so I plugged in a TV with an HDMI cable and got video! awesome! but oh no, there's no sound!
This is from a laptop with an ATI Radeon card built in. Analog audio works and plays out from the laptop's speakers. But selecting the HDMI card doesn't play audio out the TV speakers. I know the hardware is good, because it works in Ubuntu, and so linux can do it.
Hi. I've done some poking around and while I found some threads with HDMI audio issues, none seemed exactly like what I'm experiencing, so I wanted to ask for some help.
My system is a: MythTV Box running 12.04 / .25myth. It's connected to an HDMI receiver that then transmits both audio and video to a 47" 1080p tv.
I'm having problems trying to get my HDMI audio output to work correctly. By default, with or without and external monitor connected, the audio is heard from my notebook speakers (or from the headphones, when I plug them in).
